Permissions

Board Templates in Templating.app have specific permission settings to ensure proper access control. By default, only Jira admins can create and apply board templates. However, admins can extend permissions to other users or groups.

Permission Overview

  • Default Access: Only Jira admins can set up and apply board templates.
  • Custom Access: Admins can grant specific users or groups permission to apply board templates.

Steps to Grant Permissions

  1. Open Templating.app
    • Navigate to Jira and open Templating.app from the Apps menu.
  2. Access Board Templates
    • Click on the Board Templates button.
  3. Go to Administration
    • Click on Go to Administration.
  4. Manage Permissions
    • In the right sidebar, select Permissions.
    • Enter the names of users or groups who should have access to apply board templates.
  5. Update Permissions
    • Click Update Permissions to save the changes.
