Edit Space Template

Editing a space template in Templating.app allows you to adjust configurations to better suit your team’s needs. Here’s how you can update an existing space template:

Steps to Edit a Space Template

  1. Navigate to Templating.app
    • Go to Jira Navigation → Apps → Templating.app.
  2. Access Space Templates
    • Click on the Space Templates button located at the top of the Templating.app overview.
  3. Open Space Template configuration
    • Click “Go to Administration”
  4. Edit the Template
    • Click on the template you would like to edit.
    • This will open the template editor.
  5. Update Template Details
    • Modify the name, icon, or description of the template if necessary.
    • Add or remove notes to provide updated guidance for users.
  6. Adjust Configuration
    • Update the project type (e.g., Jira Software or Jira Work Management).
    • Change the project lead, status, or add/remove board templates.
    • Modify scheme assignments such as workflows, permissions, or notifications.
  7. Save Changes
    • After making your updates, click Update template to finalize the changes.
    • The updated template will now be available for use.
