Permissions

In Templating.app, Description Templates help structure the issue creation process by pre-poplating fields with content, saving time and ensuring consistency. However, access to the creation and editing of these templates is restricted based on user roles and permissions.

Who Can Create and Edit Description Templates?

Only Admins have the ability to create and edit Description Templates. This ensures that templates are carefully curated and aligned with organizational workflows and standards.

Who Can Use Description Templates?

Any user with the “Create Issue” permission in Jira can apply Description Templates when creating new issues. This means that while only admins can manage templates, all users who have the necessary permissions to create issues can benefit from the streamlined process.

Summary of Permissions:

  • Admins: Full access to create and edit Description Templates.
  • Users with “Create Issue” Permission: Can apply Description Templates when creating new issues.
