Create Checklist Template
Checklist Templates are an easy way to manage smaller tasks or essential action items directly within your Jira issues. Hereβs how to create and configure a checklist template for your project:
- Open the Project Settings
- As a project admin, navigate to Project Settings in your Jira project.
- Go to Apps β Templating.app.
- Or select the project from the Checklist Template dropdown at the Templating.app Overview
- Create a New Template
- Click on Create a template in the Checklist Template configuration.
- Name Your Template
- Enter a meaningful name for your checklist template to help identify its purpose.
- Add Action Items
- Use the text editor to input your action items.
- You can add an action item by typing [] or choosing it from the editor bar.
- Format the checklist as needed.
- You can also include @-mentions or additional text for clarity.
- Assign Issue Types
- Select one or more Issue Types to define where the checklist template should apply.
- Anytime a user creates an issue of this type in your project, the predefined checklist template will automatically appear in the description.
- Optional: Add a Label Condition
- You can assign a label to act as an additional condition for the template to apply.
- If configured, the checklist will only be added when the defined label is applied to the issue (during creation or when updated).
- Click Create to Save your Template
