Restore Data after Uninstallation

Caution

When you uninstall Templating.app from your Jira Site, all templates you have created will be lost. In case you reinstall the app afterwards, the data can be re-linked by Atlassian. But please be aware that this is only possible when you’ve uninstalled the app no longer than 14 days ago.

Explanation

Templating.app is built using Atlassian Forge, a framework which ensures that your data is solely stored within the Atlassian infrastructure. By uninstallation, your data will be unlinked and removed after 14 days, due to legal requirements for data retention. You can find more information in the Atlassian documentation and here.

Atlassian is aiming to improve that behaviour. You can track the progress of that effort in the Atlassian Ecosystem Jira (ROADMAP-107).

Steps to Restore your Data

1. Raise a support request at our Service Desk and let us know that you want to re-link your data after app uninstallation.
2. Please provide the following information: customer details, site URL and date of uninstallation
3. Please make sure to raise this request within 7 days after uninstallation. This gives us enough time to contact Atlassian and ask them to re-link your data before the 14-day retention ends.
4. To request recovery, we will then raise a bug ticket on Atlassian’s Developer Support and add you to the request, asking you to confirm consent to recover your data.

It’s important to raise your request before the 14 day retention period ends, otherwise your data will be lost and cannot be restored. We know that there might be situations where this time frame is not enough. You can be sure that we are always doing our best in order to save your data. Unfortunately the behaviour is out of partner’s hands and we rely on Atlassian to improve it.
