Add Board to Project Template

Including a board template in your project template configuration allows users to set up predefined boards when applying a project template. Follow these steps to add a board to your project template.

Steps to Add a Board to a Project Template

  1. Open the Project Templates Configuration
    • Navigate to Templating.app from the Apps menu in Jira.
    • Click on the Project Templates button.
    • Click on “Go to administration”.
  2. Choose a Project Template
    • Select the project template you want to edit from the list.
    • Alternatively, create a new project template by following the steps in How to Create a Project Template.
  3. Locate the Add a Board Section
    • Scroll to the Add a Board section within the selected project template’s configuration.
  4. Select a Board Template
    • Choose an existing board template from the dropdown list. You can add multiple board templates if needed.
    • When multiple board templates are available, users applying the project template can select one of the provided options.
  5. Optional Board Selection
    • Note: Users applying the project template are not required to include a board. They can deselect the board template during the project creation process.
  6. Save Changes
    • Once you’ve added the desired board templates, click Save Changes.
