- Start fresh with a blank template to create one from scratch. The choice is yours!
- Change the icon and color to suit your project’s style.
- Select a project for the template. Remember: Templates are project-specific due to different configurations like issue types and custom fields.
- Name the template something meaningful (e.g., “Onboarding Checklist”).
- Add a subtitle and description for clarity, then click Create to move forward.
Add Issues to your Template
- Add the summary of the first issue. Then hit Enter or click Add issue to add more.

- Click on the issue icon to change the issue type.
- After setting up your issue structure, click on an issue to open the detail view on the right.
- You can now add all relevant details, e.g. edit the summary, add a default description and many more.
- Don’t forget to click Save as soon as you’ve entered anything that’s needed. You are now ready to apply your Issue Template!
- You can also add dynamic variables or issue links to your template. Browse our documentation to learn more.
