Edit Description Template

Editing a Description Template allows you to update its name, description, conditions, or modifications to better suit your workflow as your project requirements evolve.

How to Edit a Description Template

Note

To edit a Description Template, you need the Administer Jira permission.

Follow these steps to edit an existing Description Template:

1. Open Templating.app:
   • Navigate to the app within Jira.
2. Go to the Behaviour Builder:
   • Click on the “Behaviour Builder” button to access your list of templates.
3. Find Your Template:
   • Locate the template you want to edit in the list. Use the search bar if necessary.
4. Edit the Template:
   • Simply click the template name to begin editing.
5. Make Your Changes:
   • Update the Name or Description to ensure the template is easy to identify.
   • Adjust the Conditions to refine when the template should apply.
   • Modify the Field Behaviors or add new ones under the “Modifications” section.
6. Save Your Updates:
   • Click the “Update” button to apply your changes.
